CAC has formed a partnership with CusterTel to bring more art to our community. Each quarter, CAC will curate the work of an artist interested in reflecting the history, culture and spirit of life in the mountains of Central Idaho. Please stop by CusterTel's newly remodeled office at 1101 Main St. to see what's up on the walls! For information regarding info on the artist or purchase of the work, call Melissa at 208-879-2745.

Artist Statement: "As a self taught artist with a geology degree, I love the inspiration which scenery of the mountain west provides. I seek to capture patterns, shapes, reflections, backlit clouds and shadows.
My works have been selected and invited to several juried national and regional exhibits, (Wallowa Festival of Arts- Joseph Oregon, Yellowstone Gateway Museum, ERA Sweetpea Winter Art Show, solo show at Zoot, Livingston Center of Art and Culture, Art & Soul of Magic Valley) in Montana, Oregon and Idaho."
Artist Bio: I grew up in St. Louis and finished high school in Savannah Georgia. This was followed by a geology degree from Harvard University --and an MBA from Indiana Kelley School of Business. I studied a little Art History in undergrad and visited many museums across the country while growing up and spent time working as a geologist in summers in Colorado and climbed several 14ers. I then moved to Dallas, Salt Lake City and Montana and 2 years in UK and Austria. I love the mountains in the American West, the Alps and the Andes.
Initially I worked in Strategic Planning at a tech company and also American Express. Have travelled extensively globally (Europe, Australia, Singapore, India, Brazil, Peru, Costa Rica, Mexico and other)- So European and my time outdoors has influenced my work.
I started painting when I was 11 as suggested by my Dad. In last few years have devoted much more time to painting. I prefer oil as enjoy mixing colors and having time to make adjustments and changes. In 1999 I met Kevin skiing (at SnowBird) and he introduced me to airplane camping in Idaho as he is a jet pilot and has a Cessna 180. Since meeting him I earned my pilot's license in 2001 and immediately bought my Piper Supercub. We have had tremendous adventures flying to many of the airstrips in the Frank Church Wilderness and nearby (Warm Springs - Lowman; Smiley Creek, Atlanta, Stanley, Johnson Creek, Indian Creek, Thomas Creek, Soldier Bar, Upper Loon Creek, Big Creek, Chamberlain Basin, Priest Lake, Temperance Ranch and many more. Both of us love the Idaho backcountry. So many great stories and so many beautiful places.
The Challis area, is adjacent to the wilderness we have loved and enjoyed together for the last 25 years. Three years ago we found a great fixer upper on the Main Salmon --and we are hoping to complete the upgrades soon as we love this beautiful area.
I have always enjoyed painting and am inspired by so much beauty in the American West. I aspire to sharing my passion for the mountains, the changing sunlight and shadows, and the lushness of the wilderness.
