At CusterTel

CAC has formed a partnership  with CusterTel to bring more art to our community.  Each quarter, CAC will curate the work of an artist interested in reflecting the history, culture and spirit of life in the mountains of Central Idaho.  Please stop by CusterTel's newly remodeled office at 1101 Main St. to see what's up on the walls!  For information regarding info on the artist or purchase of the work, call Melissa at 208-879-2745.

CAC’s gallery at CusterTel is now featuring the work of Teresa Wade, an Oil Painter based in Salmon.   

Teresa Wade became inspired to paint when she was seeking a way to raise funds for a pastor’s ministry in which she and her husband are actively involved. She has no formal training or education in painting. According to Teresa, “It wasn’t a complicated inspiration, quite simple really – I just offered my hands in service. I prayed that if God would gift my hands and enable me to produce a work someone might want, I would give 100% of the proceeds received through the purchase of these paintings and prints directly to the ministry, Salt Mountain.” She was awarded the 2016 Grand Class, Judge’s Choice and Overall Champion for her painting “Dusk”; and the 2016 Grand Class Champion for “Just Like Dad” at the Lemhi County Fair.  Her affiliations include the Idaho Water Society; the Northwest Water Society; and the Southwest Watercolor Society. She is represented by both the Lemhi Gallery and Purple Easel Gallery in Salmon, Idaho and will have a solo showing of her work at the MadDog Gallery in Challis in early Spring, 2025. She and her husband currently live in Salmon.

Artist’s Statement

The organic movement of pigment, a mark or simple brush stroke can be arresting. The tonal relationships that are my craft unite brush and shape into recognizable forms that seek to resonate some type of passion. Using the qualities of color, stroke and texture I seek to give the viewer room to breathe and the permission to complete my work on their own. I hope to capture a space in your mind that resonates in what nature alone can create. To look beyond the persona and grasp the honesty of it. I invite you to see nature for yourself and sense what is not displayed in my work. My efforts are to acknowledge our created world through my loose way of rendering a likeness; choosing to sacrifice accuracy for suggestion and to chase the elusive impression of a thing.
